Product Profile: A-dec 500

Dentaltown Magazine

Creating a superior patient experience

Working with a team of doctor evaluators, the next level A-dec 500 evolved with a focus on creating a superior doctor and patient experience. It delivers the reliability and longevity dental teams expect, with the access, integration, control and comfort to perform and feel their best. The entire delivery system is designed to function holistically and intuitively, reacting to every move, without disrupting the procedure at hand.

With effortless adjustments in mind, A-dec built extra safeguards and responsiveness into the new system, such as LED coolant indicator lights that take second guessing out of adjustments; visual, iconic displays on the screen that automatically activate when an instrument is picked up; and positive positioning that allows smooth precise movement of the delivery system with one hand, and keeps it in place.

As expected, the classic headrest and ultra-thin backrest deliver consistent support for patients from any angle, while simultaneously allowing doctors to move in close for an optimal view of the oral cavity.

Product highlights include:

  • Primea Advanced Air from W&H, the first air-driven, high-speed handpiece with an adjustable bur speed and constant removal rate, even with increasing pressure. A range from 60,000 to 320,000 rpm offers optimal application speed and maximum treatment efficacy at all times. One lightweight handpiece performs multiple procedures:
    • Crown and cavity prep
    • Crown and bridge cutting
    • All ceramic restoration removal
    • Amalgam restoration removal
    • Finishing (This option is integrated exclusively on the A-dec 500.)
  • Positionable Deluxe Plus touchpad that dynamically displays only what is needed based on the current procedure. Tilting screen and rotating arm adjust for precise viewing from multiple angles and delivery system arm moves for right- or left-handed operators, allowing optimal visibility from either side of the control head.
  • LED coolant indicators that light up when a handpiece is lifted out of the holder. These individually adjustable water coolant lights identify which handpiece is in the active position.
