Mudlick Mail recently announced that it will combine operations with Muscle Up Marketing, a full-service marketing firm specializing in serving the fitness and health and wellness industries. This combination is expected to expand Mudlick’s expertise into a brand-new vertical market while enhancing the digital services offered to clients.
Operating out of Acworth, Georgia, Mudlick is a provider of data-driven direct mail, digital and mobile marketing solutions primarily to small and medium-sized businesses and franchisees in a wide variety of consumer service industries.
Based in Alpharetta, Georgia, Muscle Up serves clients such as Crunch Fitness and Gold’s Gym. The firm offers a full spectrum of digital services to reach customers in a wide variety of channels, including social media management, text message marketing and mobile geotargeting. Muscle Up’s founder and president, Jon Butts, will remain with the business while maintaining an ownership stake in the combined company.

Kulzer Names Marc Berendes as New Global CEO
Kulzer recently announced the appointment of Marc Berendes as the new CEO of its global organization. He replaces Akira Misawa, who will return to Japan to assume a new responsibility at Mitsui Chemicals headquarters after overseeing the integration of Kulzer into the Mitsui Chemicals (MCI) Group. The company also announced that Hiromi Hayashida and Stefan Klomann will join the company’s board of management.
Since 2016, Berendes, who is an existing member of Kulzer’s board of management, was responsible for sales, customer service and marketing as the company’s chief sales officer. Before joining Kulzer, the Canadian native worked in various sales, marketing and finance management positions for a number of renowned health care companies. As CEO, Berendes’ knowledge of Kulzer and the dental industry will enable him to lead the company’s focus on supporting customers in optimizing the workflows in their dental offices and laboratories.

Periodontology to Hold 104th Annual Meeting
The American Academy of Periodontology will hold its 104th Annual Meeting Oct. 27–30 at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia. The event is presented in collaboration with the Canadian Academy of Periodontology, the Japanese Academy of Clinical Periodontology and the Japanese Society of Periodontology. All dental professionals—including students, early-career periodontists, hygienists and office staff—are encouraged to attend.
This year’s meeting, which provides up to 25.5 continuing education credits, features 45 courses and more than 30 new speakers. Ten redesigned program tracks include oral pathology, oral medicine and oral diagnosis, emerging concepts and innovative therapies, implant surgery and prosthetic rehabilitation, and periodontal plastic and soft-tissue surgery.
