While still a dental student, Dr. Niveditha Rajagopalan attended Aspen Dental's inaugural Women in Leadership Experience. It changed the course of her life.

After graduating in 2016, Rajagopalan decided to launch her career at the Aspen Dental practice in Bourbonnais, Illinois, where she was assigned a personal mentor as a part of Aspen Dental's development and training program. Her mentor, Dr. Abigail Brier, recently relocated to Illinois in anticipation of becoming an owner in a few months.

"When I found out I'd be mentoring Dr. Rajagopalan, I felt very honored," said Brier. "I'm a fairly recent grad myself, and vividly remember what those first few months felt like as a newly practicing clinician. Thanks to the support of the other doctors and the whole Aspen network, I am confident in my leadership skills. I'm committed to helping Dr. Rajagopalan find success in her profession the same way I did when I first joined Aspen Dental."

Under Brier's guiding hand, Rajagopalan advanced from associate to lead dentist in just three months. And Brier is now making her own dream happen. She's not only opening her first practice as an owner, she's also getting ready to open another one in early 2017.
