ADA Offers Online Education
for Dentists who Treat
Nursing-Home Residents
The American Dental Association (ADA) is offering online training for dentists interested in providing care for nursing-home residents.
The nation's nearly 1.4 million nursing-home residents face the greatest challenges to accessing dental care of any group in the U.S. At the same time, the elderly population of America continues to grow, and the number of people ages 65 and older is expected to nearly double by 2050.
Through the ADA's online continuing education course, "Dentistry in Long-term Care: Creating Pathways to Success," dentists are able to expand their practices to nursing homes, assisted living facilities and senior centers. The course provides strategies for working with patients' challenging medical and cognitive conditions, getting access to patients, useful equipment and supplies, and information about caring for elderly people.
For a limited time, the 10-hour course is being offered to ADA members for $250. Non-members can register for $650. Dentists who register for the program can also register up to three of their non-dentist team members at the reduced tuition of $150 per person. Team members must register at the same time as the dentist to take advantage of the reduced tuition.
To register, visit ADA.org/en/education/careers continuing-education/.

DentUit Expands Dental Staffing Matchmaker Tool
DentUit has updated Dentuit.com, a custom matchmaking website for potential dental employees and dental offices. Using dentuit.com eliminates the need for both dental professionals and dental employers to work with a third-party temporary staffing agency.
DentUit allows immediate direct contact online between the registered dental job seeker and member dental offices looking for staff. The company's CEO, Nadia Pulcova, experienced the difficulty of finding a job in a dental office after she graduated as a licensed dental hygienist. She developed this website to eliminate the struggles the industry has always had when trying to fill their temporary, part-time and full-time staffing needs.
DentUit has recently expanded to provide services throughout the United States and Canada. This allows qualified dental professionals to enroll as members with a free custom account portfolio, enabling them to utilize the job seeker function. Members also are eligible to take advantage of the discounted dental products and services and to interact on the informative forums. Dentuit.com invites dental offices, both solo and large group practices alike, to enroll in the DentUit member program. Offices can then interact with potential staff directly through the matchmaker feature of Dentuit.com.
