Benco Dental Acquires Dental Connections

Benco Dental, a privately owned distributor of dental products and equipment, announced plans to acquire Brooklyn-based Dental Connections on June 8, 2015. This marks Benco Dental's first acquisition in the New York metropolitan area. Dental Connections, a family-owned service and installation enterprise, has been serving the New York City market for more than 35 years, and has been under the same ownership since its inception.

Dental Connections' two founders, Joseph and Barney Zaino, will continue working with Benco Dental. Joseph Zaino said he was pleased to merge with another family-owned business also focused on customer service. Benco Dental managing director Charles Cohen said he looks forward to introducing Benco's full-service approach to Dental Connections' loyal customer base.

ZEST Anchors Announces Extended Warranty Program
ZEST Anchors now offers a 10-year warranty for its narrow-diameter (less than 3mm) dental implants. The warranty, effective since May 1, 2015, will replace a LOCATOR Overdenture Implant (LODI) or SATURNO Narrow Diameter Implant (SNDI) for a $25 processing fee for each qualifying implant. The company's CEO, Steve Schiess, said this type of warranty is typical with standard-diameter implant manufacturers.

He also said that due to the lower overall cost of narrow-diameter implants and the fact that some of these systems were originally designed as temporary solutions, many competitive systems are not backed by a replacement warranty. Schiess added that ZEST's implants, however, were always designed as permanent solutions.

Complete details of the warranty can be found at Zestanchors.com.

Forward Science Technologies Announces New Biopsy Service

Forward Science Technologies (FST), a company with a focus on the oral oncology market, has added a new service to its line of products dedicated to combatting the rise of oral cancer. The product, PathID, focuses on the uniqueness of the oral cavity. Unlike most pathology services, PathID will be read exclusively by oral pathologists, focusing on detailed pathology results to better treat each patient. Free case consultations will come with each PathID biopsy reading.

With the addition of PathID, FST now has multiple testing options for dental offices to utilize for early diagnosis. CytID, a liquid-based cytology swab; hpvID, an oral HPV point-in-time test; phID, a chairside pH test; and now PathID, a nationwide biopsy service. All are services offered by ID Laboratories, a division of FST.
