Idaho Congressman Introduces Dental Health Bill
Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson in January co-introduced H.R. 539, the "Action for Dental Health Act of 2015" alongside Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02). This legislation will provide federal dollars to organizations for oral health-care services to remove barriers to dental care.

According to a press release, the bill would have a significant impact on communities that are underserved. H.R. 539 redirects existing federal dollars to initiatives that have an impact on dental access disparities. The bill has been referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Heraeus Kulzer and Dental Wings Announce Long-Term Development Partnership

At the 2015 International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany, Germany-based dental manufacturer Heraeus Kulzer and Canadian digital specialist Dental Wings announced their partnership regarding a new milling technology developed by Dental Wings. Dental Wings and Heraeus Kulzer will distribute new CAM technology with specialized Heraeus Kulzer materials.

The laser milling machine and related materials should be available in the first half of 2016.


Educational Campaign Aims to Protect Dental Customers and Patients

Patterson Dental business recently launched an educational campaign on its new website www.DentalSupplyIntegrity.com. The campaign aims to protect dentists and their patients from purchasing or using potentially unsafe gray-market dental products.

DentalSupplyIntegrity.com users will find informational resources about the gray market, including how to identify gray-market products, and will learn potential industry solutions to the problem. The website includes video, infographics, FAQs and a white paper.

American Dental Association Welcomes New Chief Communications Officer

The American Dental Association welcomes Stephanie Moritz as the new chief communications officer. Moritz will lead association communications in addition to reputation and brand management efforts for the ADA's Communications and Marketing Division.

In addition to overseeing public affairs and public relations, executive and staff communications and marketing campaigns, Moritz will also focus on amplifying critical components of the ADA's communications strategy, including digital media, social media and video production. Moritz is an alumna of Eastern Illinois University where she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in speech communications.
