The Implant Issue

This month we're featuring a variety of implants on the cover of our magazine. This mix shows the many options you, as a dentist, have when selecting an implant system for your practice. Each design is carefully calculated, each thread intentionally placed, each abutment thoroughly tested. Implant systems first go through a rigorous research and development process at their respective companies, but it isn't until they're released to real experienced dentists that the systems are in for the ultimate road test. This issue includes several great articles by implant experts like Dr. August de Oliveira, Dr. Ara Nazarian and Dr. Shady Negm.

1. Zest
Locator Overdenture Implant System
You don't have to sacrifice attachment performance and patient satisfaction when using a narrow diameter implant system. The Locator Overdenture Implant (LODI) System addresses the problems existing mini implant designs had by offering a narrow diameter implant that performs more like a standard implant. Better yet, it has the world's leading overdenture attachment —Locator. With the LODI System, you can provide your patients a less invasive, long-term, and cost-conscious technique for securing their dentures.

3. Dentsply Implants
Ankylos
Ankylos implants provide long-term hard and soft tissue stability based on an overall design referred to as the TissueCare Concept. The progressive thread design allows for excellent primary stability, while the subcrestal implant placement protocol helps to provide an aesthetic emergence profile and supports bone on the implant shoulder for long lasting esthetics. The connection is the same for all abutments, regardless of implant diameter, and both indexed and non-indexed prosthetic options are available.
