What's New in Continuing Education?

by Howard M. Goldstein, DMD, Director of Continuing Education
Spring not only means blooming flowers but it also means growth, so how about some new growth of your dental skills with Dentaltown CE? Just a reminder that every course released since December 2011 is viewable on your iPad and Android tablets! I also want to give any Townie who posts on our message boards an invitation to discuss a CE course that you would like to offer. Contact me. I would love to hear your ideas.

Cosmetic Use of Botox and Other Neuromodulators in the Dental Practice by David Kimmel, DMD

This is a course in the use of Botulism Toxin (aka, Botox) in a general dental practice where you will discover how Botox works. As dentists learn not only that there are therapeutic uses for this neuromodulator but also cosmetic enhancements that are directly related to cosmetic dentistry, more dentists will be actively adding this service to their practice. This course will inform dentists what this treatment modality is and how it fits easily within the scope of a general dental practice. It is designed to give a head start on understanding the techniques and anatomy to diagnosis and administer the neuromodulators. Discussed is how the Botulism Toxin works as well as the different products available on the market today. The indications, contraindications and complications are discussed with clinical examples shown. There is also an in-depth discussion and video of the anatomy and clinical cases, and a discussion on practice integration.

Staging Comprehensive Treatment By John Nosti, DMD, FAGD, FACE

The last course released on Dentaltown.com by John Nosti, "Treating Worn Smiles," is now the top viewed course in the Dentaltown CE lineup. And it was only released last year! He is back with his brand new follow up: "Staging Comprehensive Treatment."

Due to today's economy, many patients are requesting to complete comprehensive, cosmetic rehabilitations in stages over a period of time. Are you turning patients away because you are unable to sequence a predictable full-mouth rehabilitation, requiring a vertical dimension increase, in stages according to the patients' required financial and time goals? Dr. Nosti will discuss sequence, materials to use depending on length of treatment, as well as how to determine the fees for treatment using two fee models. He will then demonstrate staging treatment examples utilizing two different full-mouth rehabilitation cases completed in his office.

Dental Marketing Summit Series by Howie Horrocks and Mark Dilatush

This series, released last year, is the best and most popular CE series on dental marketing there is. It is designed and delivered to assist any dentist with the total understanding necessary to promote dentistry properly, effectively and efficiently. Participants will receive personalized marketing plans and Unlimited New Patients - Volume 3 as part of their course material.

The Pankey Series of Online CE

And last, we are thrilled to remind everyone about our collaboration with the famed Pankey Institute to present a series of CE courses on various subjects by esteemed members of its faculty. These courses can be viewed individually or by the whole series. The Pankey Series of Online CE on Dentaltown.com is quickly becoming one of our most popular series of CE courses. Enjoy learning from the comfort of your home!
