BriteSmile’s commitment to extensive research and on-going refinement of its technology is headed by three men who have a stake in ensuring that BriteSmile always stays on top.

Dr. John Warner, the company’s Chief Scientist, is one of the principal developers of BriteSmile’s teeth whitening technology–a role he assumed after a distinguished career as a NASA scientist and CEO at one of the early LASIK eye surgery companies. Dr. Warner’s expertise in the development and application of laser and light technologies was the catalyst for his work on BriteSmile’s proprietary light source. In his role as Chief Scientist, Warner leads the company’s development efforts and oversees clinical studies at leading universities and private institutions.

chemistry, which when combined with Warner’s light technology creates BriteSmile’s amazing results, Montgomery serves on BriteSmile’s Board of Directors. Montgomery, an experienced consultant, researcher and oral care entrepreneur, has worked with BriteSmile in protecting its proprietary technology through securing several patents. This is one area where Montgomery’s experience really shines. In fact, he has been granted over 65 U.S. and foreign patents since 1981.

Last but not least, Salim Nathoo, DDS, leads BriteSmile’s safety and efficacy research efforts as the company’s Medical Director. Nathoo has an extensive background in the development of whitening technologies. Prior to his work with BriteSmile, Nathoo was a Senior Researcher at Colgate-Palmolive and was a key member in the launch of Colgate’s whitening program. Additionally, he has lectured globally on both the clinical and scientific aspects of teeth whitening and is recognized as one of the leading authorities on the subject.

Meet A BriteSmile Partner Dentist Willis J. Pumphrey, Jr.

Houston-based Dr. Willis J. Pumphrey Jr. is in many ways a typical BriteSmile partner dentist. A graduate of the University of Texas’ Dental Branch, Dr. Pumphrey has run a successful private practice in Texas for 20 years, in addition to practicing dentistry in the U.S. Army.

What is exemplary, is the incredible rate at which his practice has grown. Over the past couple of years, Dr. Pumphrey has been able to build his practice so successfully that he is in the top 1% of dental practices nationwide–something he credits BriteSmile with helping him achieve.

Having offered BriteSmile in his practice since the beginning, Dr. Pumprey has been able to utilize the procedure in his practice not only as a highly effective teeth whitening method, but also as an important marketing vehicle. “BriteSmile has had a lot to do with the growth of my practice,” says Dr. Pumphrey. “It is an awesome marketing tool and the name is really well branded and well known. During the seminar, Dr. Pumphrey discussed how he has used BriteSmile to grow his practice through referrals, as well as successful methods for converting BriteSmile patients into lucrative cosmetic treatment plans.
