Now you can make patients more comfortable during their dental x-rays by alleviating the discomfort that may occur when the edge of the packet comes into contact with the inside of their mouth. Kodak has developed SureSoft, a film packet with a cushion material based on compounds similar to those used in Kodak's Super Polysoft™ vinyl. Super Polysoft is a very soft material that itself improves patient comfort over and above other alternatives.
As a result, patients will feel more at ease during their x-ray exams. The packets require no special handling or preparation, but are used just as other film packets. The convenience of a pre-applied cushion versus adding a bulkier alternative makes the assistant's job easy. No extra steps are needed to use or remove. Also, you will not have to be concerned about allergies, as the material is latex-free.
"Patient comfort is central to dental patient care," said Ruth Arbuckle, worldwide product line manager, dental analog imaging products, Kodak's dental business. "Patients who are relaxed and comfortable are more successfully and easily treated. So we designed our new SureSoft Packets to help dentists meet this critical patient need for those patients that are particularly sensitive to the edge of the packet in their mouth."
Arbuckle noted that no other intraoral film packaging on the market offers the specialized design features of the SureSoft Packets. "Our SureSoft Packets are a unique way of providing a comfort solution to the patient," she said. "Using them is simple. There are no extra steps. And patients will really feel a difference. We think dentists who try this product will be very pleased by their patients' reactions."
The new SureSoft Packets will be available in limited quantities from leading U.S. dental dealers by mid-year. Dentists can also call 800-933-8031 or visit Kodak's Health Imaging Dental Products Group website at www.kodak.com /go/dental for more information.
