Synopsis:The third program of this series will conclude with a discussion of obturation techniques. Current methodology will be evaluated from a historical perspective, as well as clinical success. The concept of “user-friendliness” will also be discussed. This section will also introduce a new glass ionomer based obturation technique.
Educational objectives:Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to achieve the following: - Realize the sealer is what creates the seal in endodontic obturation
- Fully understand the concept of a monobloc and recognize the benefits associated with it
- Learn the benefits of glass ionomer cements and their use in endodontics
- Realize that glass ionomer cement, when used as a sealer rather than filler, can be retreated in a straightforward manner
