Dental Demo Suite Releases DDS GP for iPad

San Diego, California May 27, 2010 – Kick Your Apps, Inc., has announced the release of the first member of their Dental Demo Suite package of 'apps' for iPad. Named DDS GP, this app is designed to be used by dentists, hygienists, and other dental professionals to increase case acceptance though better patient understanding of their conditions and treatment. The developer will release other members of the “Suite” of apps for specialists in the future.

"I really think you have a winner with your product!! I have already incorporated into my practice; for me and the hygienist. A few of my colleagues were also impressed when I showed them. I posted a review (5 stars) on the AppStore."
-Dr. Jack Ringer, cosmetic dentist on "The Doctors" TV show, AACD board member and accredited cosmetic dentist, President of Orange County Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, nationally renowned lecturer in contemporary esthetic dentistry, faculty mentor for the Spear Institute at the Scottsdale Center in Arizona, faculty member for the Esthetic Professionals Dental Education and Training Center in Tarzana California, past Associate Professor at Loma Linda Dental School and past Assistant Clinical Director for Center for Esthetic Dentistry at UCLA.

DDS GP is the next step in chair-side patient consultation. It includes demonstrations over 120 diagnoses and procedures, with updates and new demonstrations added regularly. Each demo consists of a series of beautifully rendered drawings, which "come alive" at the touch of a finger. For diagnosis, the severity of the problem or condition is easily shown by using the app's "slider bar". For treatment, the steps involved become very clear to the patient. DDS GP effectively replaces a variety of printed materials, videos, posters, brochures, and hand drawings. After demonstrating the diagnosis and/or procedure to the patient, the user can, with just one tap, e-mail a customized treatment plan, which shows easy-to-understand pictures to remind the patient of the consultation and encourage plan acceptance. From within the app, the user can add to, delete from, and sequence the plan. Even complicated plans are easily entered. These plans are used to supplement what is today's norm for treatment plans given to patients, which largely consist of information about cost only.

What sets DDS GP apart from other products is its interactive nature. Unlike a television (or even a laptop) the iPad and related devices are small enough to be held in one hand while sitting adjacent to the patient. In testing, patients were impressed by their dental office when they used leading-edge technology like the iPad. Patients responded with a higher case acceptance rate when their dental practitioner was directly explaining conditions and treatment plans with the aid of DDS GP than when they were left alone to watch a video or handed printed information.

At $399.99, the cost of DDS GP is a fraction of the price of other similar products, and qualifies as a truly minor expense in the dental office. Additionally, unlike every other electronic dental consultation product on the market, which charge monthly or version fees, there is never any cost to add additional demonstrations or functionality enhancements as they become available. According to the developer, even major future releases will qualify as free updates to all users. Offices with multiple chairs may use a single download on multiple iPads so long as they are all on the same iTunes account. The developer is very responsive to feedback from customers, typically within 24 hours, and is eager to improve and expand the app as requests are made. There is even an "email feedback" link built into the app itself.

To use DDS GP in the office, an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch is required, but the developer suggests an iPad is best for chair-side use. The app is available for download in the iTunes store. For further information, visit www.DentalDemoSuite.com or call 800-631-2021.
