The event was led by the Wit and Wisdom of Bill Cosby. It was the largest gathering at the Extravaganza since the program’s inception. Wearing blue sweats and a white ZOOM hat, Mr. Cosby immediately enthralled the audience with detailed accounts of his own experiences in a dental office. An impromptu acappella version of his high school alma mater with one dentist from the audience hailing from the same school, brought a standing ovation at the end of the program.
The corporate sponsored event also featured a keynote program from Australia’s Amanda Gore, whose Brainsex lecture helped participants gain new insights on the inherent differences between men and women while laughing at the realities she pointed out. Nationally renowned speaker, actress and playwright Connie Podesta ended the event with a lively and uplifting look at personality differences using her distinct square, circle, triangle and squiggly line approach. The company held a private party at the House of Blues inside the Mandalay Bay on Saturday evening, with live music and entertainment by the Boogie Knights. The evening was highlighted by a wedding ceremony between sets. A participating dentist and his orthodontist fiancée decided to get married on stage at the House of Blues giving the participants even more reason to celebrate the evening.
The 8th Annual Discus Dental Las Vegas Extravaganza offered 17 continuing education credits through a variety of clinical, hygiene and management programs by some of the world’s leading clinicians and researchers. Discus Dental’s Las Vegas Extravaganza hosted speakers such as Ed Lowe, Newton Fahl, Bill Dorfman, Steve Anderson, Roger Levin, Linda Miles, Mel Rosenburg, Tom Orent, Bill Blatchford, Howard Farran, Raymond Bertolotti and many, many more.
