Product Profile: Fastbraces History: 30 Years in the Making
Although Fastbraces has recently gained global popularity among dentists, its story dates back more than three decades. The foundation for the technology behind Fastbraces dates back to the 1980s, during the education of a Greek American orthodontist named Anthony D. Viazis. “I’ve always wondered why it took 60–90 days to heal a broken bone but two to three years to straighten teeth, which is basically just a microfracturing of the alveolar bone,” Viazis explained. “It just didn’t make sense you could heal bone in days, but not move teeth.”

After receiving his specialty training in orthodontics from the University of Minnesota, where he also won a “Teacher of the Year” award, Viazis published extensively in the literature, and he received multiple patents.

Viazis debuted the first Fastbraces office in Dallas, Texas, in 1996. He opened 15 Fastbraces locations across Texas and began licensing Fastbraces technology to dentists all over the world through his company, Orthoworld.

Today, Fastbraces are used in dental offices across the globe for fast orthodontic treatments with excellent results. Ever since the first patients were treated, Fastbraces has been the technology dentists trust to move teeth quickly, properly, and easily with quality—even in the toughest of cases. Nowadays, some cases can finish in about 60–90 days, while spaces for implants can be achieved in about 100 days.

Many Fastbraces providers use the internationally recognized Fastbraces logo as a sign on the front of their dental office to attract more new patients and significantly boost their practice revenue.
