Western Dental To Acquire Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners

Western Dental has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners (MADP). Western Dental, a dental service organization (DSO), includes its affiliated Western Dental, Brident and Vital Smiles brands.

Based in Plano, Texas, MADP is a DSO with 215 offices in 17 states operating under four regional brands: Dental One Partners, DentalWorks, Perfect Teeth and Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners. Together, Western Dental and MADP will be a coast-to- coast, border-to-border DSO with 571 offices in markets from California to Delaware and from Michigan to Texas.

As part of the transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, the MADP ownership group will receive a combination of cash and stock in the Western Dental parent company. The transaction is subject to customary approvals and closing conditions.

North Carolina’s High Point University Receives $32M Donation From Workman Foundation To Build New Private Dental School

High Point University, a private university in High Point, North Carolina, recently received a $32 million donation from the Rick and Angie Workman Foundation to help fund the construction of a new dental school at HPU, which is expected to enroll its first class in fall 2023.

The Workman School of Dental Medicine will be the only private dental school in North Carolina. At full capacity, the dental program will bring 240 new students to a new 80,000-square-foot building on the HPU campus.

MouthWatch Adds Dental Industry Veteran to Executive Team

MouthWatch recently named Wynnie Zuchowski to the newly created position of senior director of business development. In this role, Zuchowski will be responsible for developing and implementing growth-driving strategies for the company, including building strategic relationships that will help improve access to oral health care and enhance synergies between medical and dental technologies.

Before joining MouthWatch, Zuchowski was a director of commercial development for Henry Schein Dental, where she was responsible for the Business Solutions department, including the development and launch of the Henry Schein Thrive Signature membership program.
