Broad-spectrum
microbicidal potential
A health care-associated infection
(HAI) is a substantial challenge that
dental practice staff members must
overcome daily to ensure patient and
staff safety. The Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention estimates that
more than 1.7 million HAIs occur each
year and cause or contribute to 100,000
deaths. Frequently touched surfaces
need to be disinfected regularly and
staff must also be conscientious about
a disinfectant’s efficacy, which can
decrease when exposed to air. Once
the manufacturer’s seal is broken,
degradation can begin immediately.
Pac-Cide XT is a pharmaceutical-grade,
ready-to-use disinfectant
formulated with 70.5% ethanol and 0.2%
chlorhexidine gluconate that
can kill most disease-causing bacteria,
viruses and fungi within one minute.
The solution is dispensed from airtight
bags that prevent air contact and
preserve kill potential.
Environment- and people-friendly,
Pac-Cide XT is free of quaternary
amines, phenols and aldehydes. It is
noncorrosive and compatible with most
hard surfaces including stainless steel,
aluminum, titanium, glass, PVC, wood,
silicone, alginate and polyvinyl siloxane.
The Pac-Cide XT family includes
disinfectant solution, dry/wet wipes, a
spray bottle and dispensing stations.
The product may be dispensed from
a lightweight cardboard dispenser or
Pac-Dent’s stainless steel dispenser.
