Dr Florin Lazarescu
The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) is already preparing to welcome dental professionals to its celebrated Annual Conference at the end of the year. Online booking for tickets is now open, so many will be looking to secure their place at one of the most highly anticipated events of the dental calendar.
Focusing on ‘The Functional Smile: Start With Why…’, the BACD Annual Conference features a lineup of world-renowned speakers who will share professional insights on a variety of subjects and topics. The three-day event will include inspirational presentations and lectures, as well as hands-on sessions that will explore some of the most advanced techniques and concepts from the field of cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry.
Among the experts who will be presenting at the conference is Dr Florin Lazarescu. As well as being a founding member and corporate director of the Society of Esthetic
Dentistry in Romania (SSER), Lazarescu is also editor-in-chief of the Dental Tribune International magazine (Romanian edition) and Today newspaper. He has written numerous publications, including his book Immersion in Esthetic Dentistry. In 2015, Lazarescu was recognised for his dedication and hard work when Quintessence published Lazarescu’s volume, Comprehensive Esthetic Dentistry.
He currently owns two of the most prominent dental clinics in Bucharest, where he practises aesthetic-based dentistry with an emphasis on all-ceramic and implant restorative procedures. As current president of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD), Lazarescu embodies many of the BACD’s ideals and he makes a valuable addition to this year’s lineup of Annual Conference speakers.
Supported by the latest scientific research and clinical evidence, Lazarescu will present a lecture entitled ‘Aesthetic Dentistry: Digital or Traditional?’, which will explore how an ‘artistic touch’ is crucial to achieving a truly aesthetic outcome.
Speaking about his upcoming session, he says: ‘Digital technology is becoming more and more prevalent within dentistry. Education on this aspect is necessary, in order for clinicians to develop a better understanding of how both traditional and digital technology can be implemented effectively. This knowledge will enable clinicians to provide higher quality treatment.’
Lazarescu’s lecture will cover aesthetic analysis, effective treatment planning and the application of digital dental photography, as well as the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration. His goal is to arm delegates with the skills and knowledge to be able to adopt a structured approach towards the delivery of complex procedures. He also aims to build on delegates’ understanding of the benefits and limitations of conventional and CAD/CAM technology—looking at how it plays a role in minimally invasive dentistry.
‘During my presentation, I will be exploring the various perceptions of dental aesthetics and the ideal standard for an aesthetic rehabilitation, looking in detail at the double veneer technique,’ says Lazarescu. ‘My session will give practitioners the opportunity to examine the challenges of restorative treatment and ways of overcoming them. Clinicians will be able to apply the techniques they have learned immediately when they return to practice on Monday morning.
‘Minimally invasive dentistry will be the key phrase within my session and I hope that delegates consider this as an essential part of treatment planning. While every practitioner aims to carry out treatment to the highest standard, patient satisfaction is key and the ultimate goal is to ensure longevity
of any treatment performed. Nothing can replace
the sense of professional fulfilment and personal reward that comes from successfully restoring a patient’s smile.’
If you are looking to expand your understanding of how traditional and digital technology can be used to enhance your clinical practice, be sure not to miss out on Lazarescu’s fascinating lecture.
Hailed as one of the most influential communities of dental professionals, the BACD remains committed to helping clinicians excel.
The Annual Conference provides a unique stage from where delegates can learn from some of the world’s most distinguished experts—including Drs John Kois, Joana Garcez, Ulf Krueger-Janson and Jameel Gardee, among others.
Beyond the engaging workshops and lectures, there will also be an opportunity for delegates to browse an eclectic tradeshow, where some of the industry’s biggest companies will showcase their innovative new solutions, state-of-the-art dental equipment and consumables. If that was not enough, the BACD’s exclusive Gala Dinner will also offer the chance for delegates to network with friends, colleagues and other likeminded professionals.
With so much on offer at the Annual Conference, many delegates have a lot to look forward to at the end of the year. Visit the BACD website today to book your ticket to this unmissable event!
