Dr. Tejaswi MellachervuI practice in the village of Crigglestone, near Wakefield. I have owned the practice for more than three years and have carried out a complete refurbishment in that time.

We offer general dentistry and many treatments, including mini smile makeovers, facial aesthetics and orthodontics.

I very much see myself as a general dentist. I still enjoy all aspects of dentistry and would like to continue that for as long as I can.

Although the practice is mainly NHS, we carry out a fair amount of private work, too.

Wand anaesthetic system
I have used the Wand for about 10 years. A small, thinner needle, administered with a penlike grip and delivered electronically, it gives an almost pain-free experience for patients. It is especially good for patients with needle phobia.

Wave One rotary endo system
I started using this a few years ago. My root treatments improved overnight. No more fiddly hand files or files breaking!

I used to dread root canals, but actually look forward to doing them now. The procedure is quicker, and the matching gutta percha points mean many of the obturation errors are eliminated.

Loupes
I use 5x mag loupes, and I use them for everything. My crown preparations improved instantly after using these, and it makes oral surgery procedures that much easier because of improved vision.

Insafe safe anaesthetic system
The safety cover and unique disposal system should mean needle-sticks become a thing of the past. If you aren’t sure, ask your local rep to demonstrate it. It does take a little getting used to, but after a while you will wonder how you ever managed without it.

Bioclear composite matrix system
I used to get frustrated at not being to close black triangles or posterior contacts in a predictable manner. The Bioclear system changed all that for me. These matrices are anatomically shaped to the profile of the teeth, so you get predictable contacts. They often require very little finishing.

Intraoral camera
Viewing intraoral images tends to encourage some patients, who may otherwise may have delayed or avoided it, to actively have required treatment. It also helps with gaining informed consent and actively involve patients in their treatment. A brilliant piece of kit no dentist should be without.
