Patterson Foundation Grants $60,000
to America's Dentists Care Foundation
A $60,000 grant from the Patterson Foundation is helping America's Dentists Care Foundation (ADCF) fulfill its mission to provide dental care to the underserved.
The funding helped to outfit a 45-chair trailer to transport equipment and other items to assist Mission of Mercy (MOM) dental clinics around the country. The ADCF's "Mini MOM" trailer, added this year, enables MOM to host smaller-scale events in areas unable to support the usual 100-chair clinics due to venue size, funding or other factors.
ADCF owns, maintains and delivers the dental equipment and expertise needed to help states hold dental clinics. Leaders in the dental profession coordinate the MOM events and volunteerism in their communities, with primarily local and regional dental professionals providing dental services. The number of MOM events has steadily grown over the years; to date, 23 clinics are scheduled for 2016.

Lucy Hobbs Project Seeks to Recognize Leaders in Dentistry
Revolutionary. Pioneer. Changemaker. These are words that define Dr. Lucy Hobbs, the first American woman to earn a degree in dentistry. They also describe the modern women in today's dental community who are recognized annually by The Lucy Hobbs Project.
Powered by Benco Dental, The Lucy Hobbs Project is a national, long-term program based on three pillars—networking, innovating and giving back. This project aims to bring women together from all facets of the dental industry—dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, receptionists, sales representatives and others. The project is free to join and offers networking opportunities, education programs and charitable events.
Benco Dental will host The Lucy Hobbs Project Fourth Annual Celebration in Dallas, Texas, on June 2 and 3, 2016. The schedule will include one CE, a keynote speaker and lunch.
During the celebration, The Lucy Hobbs Project will honor women who are setting new benchmarks in the dental profession, and beyond.
From now through the January 15, 2016 deadline, Benco Dental encourages people across the country to nominate women in dentistry whom they view as inspirations to others. Six categories for consideration include: Woman to Watch, Industry Icon, Mentor, Innovator, Humanitarian, and Clinical Expert.

Registration Now Open for AO's 2016 Annual Meeting
Today's dental implant clinicians will learn about the past, present and future of implant dentistry at The Academy of Osseointegration's (AO) 2016 Annual Meeting.
Speakers from all over the world will present data to promote the development of dental implant technology, as well as clinical and surgical best practices. The 31st annual meeting is set for February 17 to 20, 2016, in San Diego.
From computer software to stem cell research, growth factors, and other biologic materials available today, implant dentistry is evolving continually. Dr. Peter Moy, the annual meeting program chair, and the 2016 Annual Meeting Committee designed the 2016 program for dental implant experts to share new research, information on best practices and exchange ideas.
This year the AO is excited to add a hands-on workshop session on Wednesday afternoon, February 17, 2016, the day before the official start of the main program. Several of AO's corporate sponsors will provide "hands-on" experiences for those attendees who want to arrive a day early and take advantage of these training sessions.
