Description of Speaker:
Dr. Andrew Lyon is a native of Raleigh, NC, Dr. Lyons graduated with honors from North Carolina Central University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and attended dental school at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. Dr. Lyons is in a class of his own, having carved out a trajectory that uniquely and strategically makes room for all his God-given gifts and talents. To his patients, he’s their “smile doctor.” To his peers, he’s their go-to expert on dental office decor and how to lead a successful practice. Now, to his wife, he’s a helpmate and business & praying partner. To his community, he’s Godsent. He created The Lyons Share (™), as a charitable extension of his dental practice, to offer free smile makeovers annually in his community.

Dr. Drew Lyons’ extensive work in cosmetic dentistry has garnered him some glowing recognition as Charlotte Magazine’s Top Dentist from 2020-2024 and The Charlotte Observer’s Best Cosmetic Dentist in 2023. He’s even been a dental partner of the NBA Team, the Charlotte Hornets, from 2021 to 2023.

Dr. Joya Lyons, DDS is a cosmetic dentist who hails from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. She is the part owner of the husband-wife-led practice, Smile Savvy Cosmetic Dentistry based in Charlotte, North Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the renowned Hampton University and secured her Doctor of Dental Surgery designation from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry and a General Practice Residency from John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. Dr. Lyons is also a mother, mentor, author, inventor, and the brainchild behind Enchanted Traditions (™), a family-friendly brand inspired by her love of dentistry and childhood traditions.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Lyons serves as a mentor, alongside her sister, an ophthalmologist, through their nonprofit, S.C.O.R.E, encouraging young women of color from impoverished communities to explore careers in S.T.E.M. Most importantly, Dr. Lyons is a believer who uses her God-given gifts and talents to be a blessing and inspiration to others.
