WATERTOWN, Mass.—University testing confirms that the compressive and diametral tensile strength of ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE (Pulpdent Corporation) is comparable to that of Filtek Supreme Ultra.

The testing was performed at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and was presented at the IADR meeting. The strength of ACTIVA is reinforced with a rubberized resin molecule that absorbs stress and resists chipping and fracture.

ACTIVA is the first bioactive restorative that combines the benefits of glass ionomers and composites in a material that is bioactive, esthetic and durable. ACTIVA releases and recharges significant calcium, phosphate and fluoride and stimulates apatite formation at the interface between the material and the tooth that seals margins against microleakage and failure.

ACTIVA is manufactured by Pulpdent in Watertown, Massachusetts and contains no Bisphenol A, no Bis-GMA, and no BPA derivatives.

ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE is a two-part, light cure and self-cure material packaged in 5mL, double barrel, automix syringes. It is available in A1, A2, A3 and A3.5 shades, and the base/liner is dentin shade.
