Hands-on Laser Certification Course Offered by GLOH and ASDOH

Global Laser Oral Health, LLC, (GLOH) is an American based company located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company specializes in on-line modular training programs and hands-on courses for the dental professional. GLOH’s aim is to teach laser science prior to purchasing.

GLOH is hosting a two day hands-on laser certification program designed from Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health curriculum for pre-doctoral and post graduate residents.  ASDOH will be providing 12 CE credits for dentists and 12 CE credits for hygienists.  The course will be held on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona.

During the two-day course participants will have the opportunity to gain a thorough knowledge of laser science. The GLOH faculty will provide live laser case demonstrations with actual patients, including soft tissue and hard tissue procedures.  

The CO2, diodes and erbium wavelengths will be used. Hygienists will have the opportunity to work on each other with the diode laser, under supervision. Hygienists must provide proof of liability insurance prior to attending the course.

Enrico DiVito, DDS, PIPS laser activation irrigation procedure for endodontic therapy
Mark Colonna, DDS, hard tissue lasers
Scott Josephson, DMD, laser safety requirements
Robert DiVito, DDS, periodontal laser application
Janet Press, RDH, lecture and train hygienists on perio-laser application

The program includes:
Laser safety requirements
Basic laser physics
Soft tissue laser application
Hard tissue laser application
New technologies (cancer screening and LLLT)
(Low level laser applications)
Laser-perio applications

Upon completion of course, participants will be able to: 
Perform all basic soft tissue surgical procedures
Perform all basic hard tissue surgical procedures
Adjust laser setting to perform procedures in the most efficient way
Understand the theory and mechanism of action behind laser activation using 
PIPS for endodontics
Understand when to perform a procedure and when not to perform a procedure
