American Academy of Oral Systemic Health Hosts Annual Scientific Session

Posted: June 3, 2014
The American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH) invites all dental and medical professionals to attend its Fourth Annual Scientific Session this September 26-28 at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. The annual meeting, which gathers dental and medical experts and researchers from across the world, is a major forum for the latest scientific findings on the relationship between oral health and overall health.

"Cutting-edge scientific presentations combined with practical implementation ‘how-to’ courses are what separate the AAOSH Annual meeting from other oral-systemic educational opportunities,” says AAOSH president Dr. Lee Ostler. “AAOSH attendees leave with the ability to translate science into improved patient care and the tools to improve medical-dental interactions and community outreach."

Some of this year’s topics include salivary diagnostics, obstructive sleep apnea, cardiovascular disease and inflammation, and the implementation of oral-systemic health in medical and dental practices. There will also be hands-on workshops open to all attendees, including a special four-hour workshop presented by Dr. Paul Homoly on communicating more effectively with patients, team, and the community at large.

The Fourth Annual AAOSH Scientific Session will help healthcare professionals increase their understanding of the many relationships between the mouth and the body, and to become actively involved in changing the public and professional attitudes and awareness related to the mouth-body connection.
