The American Ninja Warrior competition attracts individuals from all over the United States to compete in the world’s most challenging obstacle course. The ultimate goal is make it to Las Vegas where competitors could win $500,000 if they are able to complete the 4-stage course. No one to date has been able to complete the Las Vegas course.
Before one gets the opportunity to go to Las Vegas, you have to qualify at one of the many qualifying courses in cities across the country. Thousands of applicants send in video submissions and only 100 competitors are invited to compete in each city. Competitor profiles include all kinds of occupations and athletic backgrounds. It has attracted everyone from Olympians and professional athletes to firefighters, physicians, and entrepreneurs.
Dr. Walker was selected to compete in the Miami qualifier. She has a passion for fitness and incorporates movement into every aspect of her daily life. For example, her private office at Lumber River Dental includes gymnastics stall bars bolted to the wall and gymnastics rings bolted into ceiling studs. She uses these in between seeing patients to keep her limbs loose and blood flowing.
Season 6 of American Ninja Warrior begins on NBC May 26. She will appear on the June 23 episode when the Miami qualifying competition airs on NBC. Dr. Walker, originally from Fairmont, North Carolina, is proud to represent Robeson County in this national competition.
