BioACTIVE was awarded the best new product at the Krakow Poland Dental Meeting in March 2014. A jury of five dental materials experts, chaired by Dr. Marek Zietek, President of the Polish Dental Association and Dean of the Wroclaw (Breslau) Medical School, evaluated new dental materials from leading manufacturers. ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE and ACTIVA BioACTIVE-BASE/LINER won the coveted gold medal for innovative technology in dental and clinical materials.
Larry Clark, Director of Clinical Affairs, Pulpdent Corporation (Watertown, MA USA) accepted the award on behalf of Pulpdent. Mr. Clark was included in the education program and gave two lectures at the meeting on bioactive materials and technological advances in dental restorative materials.
ACTIVA BioACTIVE products are the first bioactive composite resins that combine the strength, durability and esthetics of composites with greater release and recharge of calcium, phosphate and fluoride than glass ionomers. ACTIVA is a “smart” material that responds to pH cycles in the mouth and participates in a continuous ion exchange with teeth and saliva. Its shock-absorbing, ionic resin is moisture friendly, mimics the physical and chemical properties of teeth, and provides long-term benefits to patients.
The Krakow Dental Exhibition is the most prestigious dental exhibition in Poland with continuing education courses, scientific sessions, and commercial exhibits. It attracts close to one-third of the country’s dentists. More than 300 exhibitors from all over the world participated in the event.
