LOUISVILLE, KY: October 12, 2004 - Whip Mix Corporation, an internationally recognized leader in the manufacture of dental materials and equipment recently celebrated its 85th anniversary. Whip Mix has created and perfected a vast line of specialized dental products, including casting investments, gypsum materials, waxes, plasters, vacuum mixing equipment, model trimmers, articulators, porcelain furnaces and burn-out ovens. Founded in 1919 by E.A.Steinbock, Sr., the company was originally set up to manufacture the first complete dental inlay investment casting unit. This innovative unit featured a mechanical spatulator that whipped and mixed better than similar products on the market and was the inspiration for the company’s name.
Today, under the direction of third generation president Allen Steinbock, Whip Mix is expanding its sales and product lines while preserving its high standards of quality. Whip Mix’s commitment to quality is recognized through a rigorous quality system audit by an ISO 9000 registrar, DNV and is certified as meeting all the mandatory requirements of the internationally recognized standard for quality, ISO 9001:2000. Whip Mix’s corporate offices and manufacturing facility encompasses over 250,000 square feet and is located in Louisville, Kentucky. To better serve the European market, Whip Mix recently opened a sales and distribution facility in Leipzig, Germany. International exports now account for over 30% of company sales with distribution to more than 88 countries.
