“Dentist office music”
What do you think of when you hear this expression? You think of a waiting area and examination room where there are a lot of nervous patients with the fear of drills, sharp tools and scary treatments in their heads. The smooth jazz plays to soothe the patient, to make them think of someplace else. These people it seems; are SEEING THE WRONG DENTIST!

Look no further, get on a plane if you have to. You have reached your final destination in dentistry. Gone are the days of those painful moments waiting next to someone biting on a gauze pad as you hear screams emanating from beyond.

“Better living…just a smile away,” is more than the motto that Dr. Douglas J. Hauck, D.D.S. works by. It is a philosophy that extends to every part of his non-traditional dentistry practice in Beverly Hills, California, and can be felt from the moment a patient steps into the reception area of his office. Once inside, he has a selection of great magazines, rock music playing and, you are most likely to stumble upon some major movie stars sitting next to you while you are taking it all in. Dr. Hauck is one of the most respected dentists in the country, offering a practice that features the most technologically-advanced dental equipment and services available. Dr. Hauck is continued his education beyond his doctorate to be in the top 2% of the highly-educated dentists of the world as published at www.lvidocs.com.

Dr. Hauck began his extensive education at the University of Southern California, graduating in 1981, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics. Interested in pursuing a career in the film business, he then continued his education and ventured to the University of California, Los Angeles for their program in motion picture marketing and distribution. He graduated from film school in 1984, and got his first job working for filmmaker Roger Corman.

After a few years in the film industry, the always personable Dr. Hauck had connected and developed friendships with numerous producers, actors, screenwriters and other industry leaders. These contacts later helped to build the foundation of Hollywood clientele for his dental practice.

Working in film production, Doug’s family heritage was tugging on his sleeve. Raised in a family of doctors, he changed his course of study a third and final time. Eager to go after his interest in the health field and desire to help others, he decided to pursue a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He graduated from the University of the Pacific, San Francisco in 1988.

Relating back to his earlier roots in the film business, he vowed to himself that he would in some way form a correlation between the entertainment community and his new practice. In fact, the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences and all of the studios and talent agencies including: Creative Artists Agency, United Talent Agency, International Creative Management and the William Morris Agency have endorsed Dr. Hauck’s practice and send their talent and executives to him. Filmmakers and television producers often consult him with script questions when a storyline centers around his area of expertise.

Dr. Hauck continues to enrich his knowledge of the newest technologies through continuing his education at the renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Hauck is amongst a select group of only 2% of dentists on an international level that have been trained by the Institute in cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry, which help to alleviate many kinds of head and neck pain. He has perfected the prestigious computerized approach to helping make “Better Living Through a Healthy New Smile.”

The exclusive practice in the mecca of fashion and beauty, Beverly Hills, provides such services as: cleanings, fresh breath evaluations, full mouth restoration, teeth whitening, veneers, neuromuscular restoration, instant orthodontics, smile design, implants, dermatological facial profiles, facial tones and makeovers. He works closely with a patient’s plastic surgeon as needed.

Once you are in the chair in his office, you are offered I-vision movie glasses so that you can watch a movie during your treatment as Dr. Hauck works to enhance your smile providing you with a new reason to have confidence.

“Our office is a friendly place that is safe and comforting, and everyone is treated like a celebrity when they step through the door,” which according to Dr. Hauck is what keeps his office so popular.

Commonly referred to as “dentist to the stars,” Dr. Hauck has worked on Hollywood smiles like those of: Reese Witherspoon, Uma Thurman, Ryan Phillippe, Dean Cain, Vincent D’Nofrio, Harry Hamlin and LeAnn Rimes. Akin to being a fan of rock music, Dr. Hauck’s enjoys working with celebrity musicians such as Bob Dylan, Courtney Love and Adam Durst or David Gruel who come in for a quick cleaning or fresh breath evaluation. Often times it takes just a single visit to hook these high profile patients to recognize the superb services that Dr. Hauck offers, and they frequently refer family and friends to him.

In fact, it is not uncommon for celebrities in need of a routine cleaning to come from all over the country to see him. They trust their million dollar smiles to Dr. Hauck’s 15 years of experience and connect with his ability to recognize his patient’s needs for a healthy and beautiful smile.

In the process of developing his practice with celebrity patients, Dr. Hauck has become a celebrity himself. He is the chief content provider for the Discovery Channel, and for the cable program “Dental Directions.” Many national publications including: Us Weekly, Fitness, Glamour, Shape and People depend on Dr. Hauck’s expertise for the latest news in dentistry techniques ranging from toothpaste recommendations to fresh breath tips. He is often invited to be a guest on talk radio programs.

Despite all of the high-profile clientele, Dr. Hauck has managed to maintain a level head and remain faithful to his core values. He also educates aspiring dentists as a professor at USC. He is genuinely concerned with enhancing his patient’s smile to make them as beautiful as they can be, and ensuring that each mouth is healthy.

Dr. Hauck is expanding his practice to include a state-of-the-art office in the exclusive Newport Beach community in “the OC” (Orange County, California.) This office will offer many of the same services as Beverly Hills, but will also feature new innovations in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry.

Dr. Hauck’s activities are guided with his client’s safety in mind. He refuses to use “toxic silver” or Mercury fillings in his office, and only uses porcelain or composite fillings. Dr. Hauck cannot fathom, “Why if someone spills Mercury on their kitchen floor and they need to have a haz mats team come in to remove it, then why in the world do they allow for Mercury to be inserted in their teeth?” He does not even recommend any of the new fancy toothpastes on the market. He believes tried and true, “old-fashioned Crest toothpaste” is the best money can buy.

Dr. Hauck continues to partner with his filmmaker friends on producing feature films including: “The Whole Shebang” starring Bridget Fonda and Stanley Tucci, and “Melvin Goes to Dinner” with Jack Black. He is a co-founder/editor of Extreme Makeover - The Magazine to be released by the end of 2004.

Dr. Hauck is proud to do his part in achieving social change and contributing a positive impact on society. He has worked closely with organizations involved in promoting health, education and services for children such as: The Siren Society (an organization which helps children in need) and the Adam Deadmarsh Charity Gold Classic which raises money for The Trail Regional Hospital.

Dr. Hauck lives in Los Angeles with his wife Kim and their two children Skyler and Hamilton and their dog Barron. Dr. Hauck maintains an excellent balance between his family and work. He and his family enjoy living in Southern California, and they spend weekends hiking, surfing and skiing. Family excursions to a second home in Telluride, Colorado are also a favorite pastime.
