ATLANTA (November 6, 2013)—The Children’s Dental Sedation Center of Atlanta has relocated to 1150 Lake Hearn Dr., suite 170. Located just around the corner from the Scottish Rite Hospital of Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, the new office is conveniently positioned near Atlanta’s hub of pediatric and medical expertise.

“Our new location gives our patients, parents and staff convenient access to the children’s hospital and other medical facilities,” said Charlie Coulter, DDS, a pediatric dental specialist at the Children’s Dental Sedation Center of Atlanta. “We surround our sedation experts with an experienced dental team to care for the unique smile of every patient, making the environment and experience as comfortable as possible.”

According to the American Dental Association, the administration of local anesthesia, sedation and general anesthesia is an integral part of the practice of dentistry and an effective way to make many patients comfortable during their treatment. Sedation ranges from the use of nitrous oxide, used for treating patients with dental phobia or low pain tolerance, to the use of general anesthetics for putting patients to sleep for more complex treatments.

The Children’s Dental Sedation Center of Atlanta, which provides oral conscious sedation (OCS) and intravenous sedation (IV) for patients with complex pediatric dental needs, has a seasoned team of pediatric dental specialists, a pediatric anesthesiologist, and registered nurses and assistants certified in CPR and expanded dental care. Children who require complex dental care, such as full-mouth rehabilitation, or children with special needs are often candidates for dental sedation.

“We understand the anxieties parents have anytime their child undergoes sedation,” said Barbara Yarn, M.D., pediatric anesthesiologist at the Children’s Dental Sedation Center of Atlanta. “We only treat children and specialize in their specific dental treatment and sedation needs, giving our patients expert care and their parents peace of mind.”
