PHOENIX, ARIZONA, FEBRUARY 18 – Dentaltown is pleased to announce the much anticipated release of public and private group forums on www.dentaltown.com. These groups have a similar look and feel to the message boards, but with the added options for members to now manage their own groups and create them with a public or private setting.
These new groups are intended to provide a place for those who might be less likely to post a message on the main forums for all to see, as well as to allow people to interact with each other in a smaller, less intimidating, more intimate environment. Private groups will particularly benefit members of private associations who wish to conduct business or communicate with group members within a reserved platform.
Dr. Alan Mead of Mead Family Dental in Saginaw, Michigan, says, “If you have a study club or group from dental school and are looking for a place meet, why not host a virtual get together?” Dentaltown Private Groups were created with this purpose in mind. “You control who is in the group and who sees the posts,” Mead continues, “and there is no need to learn how to use a new site, since it’s set up just like the Dentaltown we already know.”
Benefits of private and public group forums include:
- Private group membership by invitation
- Only group members can see group content
- Once a group is created, the public or private status of a group cannot be changed
- Group content does not appear anywhere else on the site (including Active Topics or Active Cases pages)
- Only public groups appear on searches
