Posted: March 7, 2004
The Arch Measuring Gauge, AMD, is a disposable flexible gauge designed with graduated metric (5mm) incremental lines that can be easily cut into sections for a variety of orthodontic uses. The Arch Measuring Gauge can measure arch circumferences from molar tube to molar tube or on study models can curve the gauge around to measure available arch length from molar to molar. Using the AMD, clinically measure the dimensions (crown height and width) necessary for laboratory placement of prosthetic teeth into retainers. During diagnosis, the AMD can be used like a flexible ruler to measure individual tooth widths, overbite, overjet, intercanine width, intermolar width, etc. There are numerous other uses available for the Arch Measuring Gauge. Glenroe manufactures the Arch Measuring Gauge in both white and fluorescent orange.
