Brooklyn, New York—At a dental presentation at Interfaith Hospital last week, Dr. Charles Grannum, DMD, and Director of the Department of Dentistry, and Dr. Ingrid Dowrich, DDS and Chair, presented Dr. Bernard Fialkoff, a periodontist and dental implant specialist of Queens, New York with a prestigious “Leadership in Dental Education” Award. At the end of the presentation on periodontal treatment, Dr. Grannum came to the floor and surprised Dr. Fialkoff with the noteworthy plaque.
Dr. Grannum presented the plaque and read, “In recognition of your unselfish commitment to educating and mentoring in the field of Dental Implantology and Periodontics.” Interfaith Hospital’s Dental program and its students are frequent attendees of the Fialkoff Queens Dental Study Club. The club was founded in the mid ‘90’s and has an audience of 60-80 dentists each month. It focuses on raising dental excellence, standards and camaraderie in the New York boroughs.
The next evening Dr. Fialkoff presented on “What Really Works in this Economy? It is Time for a Change,” with 60 dentists and staff in attendance.
