SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, December 20, 2011 —Heraeus Kulzer, LLC, the worldwide leader in dental esthetics, announced today that it will sponsor four continuing education seminars at the Yankee Dental Congress 2012 in Boston, Massachusetts.

The four seminars, each of which is worth 3 CE credits, are:
• The Patient Care Coordinator
Thursday, January 26, 2012, 9:00 am - noon.
Speaker: Shannon Pace Brinker, CDA.
This lecture is a must for the dental team that is ready to learn about new procedures and materials that can enhance their level of care, and new communication techniques that will help them better connect with both their patients. Specific learning objectives include: the 12 steps to a beautiful smile; the use of digital photography for co-diagnosis and practice growth; scheduling tips to enhance productivity and production; new ideas for internal and external marketing; and managing the dental team to create synergy and exceed goals.

• Snap-On Trial Smile: Designing and Creating a Composite Shell
Thursday, January 26, 2012, 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
Speakers: Lee Ann Brady, DMD and Gary DeWood, DDS

This hands-on course takes a step-by-step approach to esthetic treatment planning to design and create a finished composite snap-on “trial smile.” Created on a model, the composite shell incorporates proposed incisal edge and gingival positions. Finished and polished for exquisite esthetics, the shell can be snapped over the patient’s teeth so they can show friends and family as well as the specialist, who can use it as a surgical guide for esthetic perio alterations. Specific learning objectives include: step-by-step esthetic design; creating a composite snap-on trial smile; and using a composite snap-on smile in clinical practice.

• New Clinical Product Solutions for Your Practice
Two options: Thursday, January 26, 2012, 2:00 - 5:00 pm, and Friday, January 27, 2012, 9:00 am – noon.
Speaker: Shannon Pace Brinker, CDA

This hands-on course will appeal to any dental team member who desires the most up-to-date information on the latest esthetic materials and their applications. Specific learning objectives include: comparing alginate to polyvinyl, bite registrations and polishing pastes; discussing direct and indirect composite, flowables, and bonding adhesives; practicing with provisional cements, ionomers and resins, bleaching systems, varnishes, and fluoride; and exercising clinical use of several materials including impression materials, bite records, flowables and cements, fluorides, prophy paste, sealants and varnishes.

• The Anterior Bite Plane: Fabricate an Appliance Quickly and Easily
Friday, January 27, 2012, 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
Speakers: Lee Ann Brady, DMD and Gary DeWood, DDS.

This course will give participants the opportunity to fabricate an anterior bite plane appliance for themselves. All participants must bring an upper model and a lower model and will leave with an anterior bite plane appliance. This exercise will give participants the ability to build anterior bite planes for their patients in their office. Specific learning objectives include: using in-office application of appliance base; building the anterior stop and bonding it in; and adjusting the appliance for freedom of movement.

“We are very pleased and excited to be able to expose dental teams to cutting-edge materials and techniques through these four courses,” said Sonny Serreno, Heraeus’ Director of Scientific & Clinical Affairs. “We are confident that attendees will find these courses to be not only educational but highly stimulating as well.”
