Richmond Times-Dispatch: Mom Sues Over Boy’s Death After Dental Procedure

The mother of a 6-year-old boy who died after he underwent anesthesia for dental treatment at Virginia Commonwealth University Pediatric Dental Clinic has filed a $5 million wrongful-death lawsuit against the practice and those who performed the procedure.
The suit, filed last week in Richmond Circuit Court, claims the defendants negligently diagnosed, treated and cared for Jacobi Isiah Hill, 6, who died soon after the procedure on May 11, 2010. Jacobi was at the clinic to have caps, also known as crowns, put on several teeth, Crystal L. Lewis, the boy's mother, said last year.
