Richmond Times-Dispatch: Felony Charges Certified Against Chesterfield Man Who Practiced Dentistry Without License

The case against a Chesterfield County man charged with practicing dentistry without a license came to light after one of his patients suffered medical complications and sought relief at a free clinic, a prosecutor and the defendant's attorney said.
A woman who had a molar pulled by Jose A. Hernandez, 53, who is accused of performing invasive dental procedures here illegally since at least 2005, went to a Cross Over Ministry health clinic after experiencing pain from the work done by Hernandez, said defense attorney Samuel P. Simpson.
