WSLS 10: Roanoke CHIP Kids Get Free Dental Care from VCU Dentist

It's not easy going to the dentist but the dentist is coming to these kids enrolled in the CHIP, Child Health Investment Partnership of Roanoke Valley, program today. Pediatric dentists from Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Dentistry are giving free dental exams and preventive flouride varnish applications to more than 60 low-income children.

"We really focus on that first dental visit so we're trying to desensitize them so they're not afraid of the dentist," said CHIP CEO, Robin Haldiman.
