PRODRIVE SYSTEMS RECEIVES U.S. PATENT FOR BUR LENGTHENING FEATURE

Montreal, QC – September 20, 2010 – ProDrive Systems, Inc today announced the US Patent Office has allowed Patent no. 11/262,959 for ProDrive Systems’ adjustable tool drive arrangement, more commonly referred to as the bur lengthening feature. The feature allows ProDrive diamond and carbide burs for high-speed handpieces to be extended and locked into position for increased hold and safety. The 3mm extension makes procedures in difficult to reach places easier and more precise.

The bur lengthening patent is the most recent for ProDrive Systems who holds others such as, patent no 7,677,890, ProDrive’s triangular shaped turbine system. When engaged, the ProDrive Bur locks into the ProDrive Turbine, which prevents rotation of the bur inside the turbine resulting in greater torque transfer for faster, smoother, more precise cutting. In addition to the US Patents, ProDrive Systems has obtained international patents in 37 regions.

The patented ProDrive System is a turbine upgrade compatible with today's leading brand high-speed handpieces (Kavo®, Midwest®, Sirona®, Star Dental®, W&H®). It allows dentists to continue using their preferred handpiece – yet empowers their instrument for superior performance. ProDrive Turbines work in conjunction with ProDrive Diamond and Carbide Burs, all of which can be lengthened 3mm and have double grooves enabling them to be safely locked in place.

ProDrive has developed and launched products that have a profound impact on dentistry. By obtaining patents such as this, it is clearly demonstrated that ProDrive is having positive impact within the industry. ProDrive Systems is poised to transform a worldwide multi-billion dollar market in the product categories of burs, turbines and handpieces.
