New, Larger KOMET Bur Block Designed for Instrument Sterilization
Block Can Hold Up To 40 Burs

Rock Hill, S.C.—May 26, 2010—KOMET USA has introduced a new stainless-steel bur block that can hold up to 40 rotary instruments during the sterilization process.

Bur Block 9945 was designed for the cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing and storing of dental rotary instruments. There is 1 cm of spacing between each row, allowing for individual laser etching, and Block 9945 also has a compartment on the right side to store used burs. This special feature allows practitioners to keep used burs, designated for sterilization, all in one place.

Any KOMET friction grip or contra-angle instruments stored in this block can be cleaned and disinfected either in an instrument and/or ultrasonic bath, or in the thermo disinfector (in this case the block must be open).

Before using a thermo disinfector, burs placed in the storage compartment must be pre-cleaned, individually rinsed and placed into the block’s blue silicone plugs. The plugs hold instruments tightly in place, preventing them from falling out, even when they are being sterilized in an autoclave.
