Dr. Brody J. Hildebrand’s PURE Dental Office Receives Eco-Dentistry Association’s (EDA) GreenDOC™ Certification
Dallas Dentist is one of first 100 offices to become EDA Certified
Dallas, TX (March 1, 2010) The Eco-Dentistry Association™ (EDA), an international association promoting environmentally sound practices in dentistry, today announced that Dr. Brody J. Hildebrand and his PURE Dental office in Dallas have achieved EDA Gold Certification through the EDA’s GreenDOC™ Program. The EDA’s GreenDOC™ Dental Office Certification Program is the only green business certification designed specifically for dentistry.
Ushering in a new and progressive approach to dental care, Dr. Hildebrand opened PURE Dental in March 2009. The practice features ecologically-conscious, high-design facilities while also implementing a host of “green” operations, even working toward LEED certification for the interior build-out. Virtually every aspect of their practice is eco-friendly; from the smallest detail (i.e. shot glasses made of recycled glass instead of throw-away rinse cups) to the greatest features (e.g. an in-office, full-service, “green” lab; state-of-the-art eco-friendly heating and air system; and digital charts and radiographs).
“While I’m proud that PURE Dental is one of the Eco-Dentistry Association’s Charter Certified offices, I’m even more excited to see the development of this certification program,” said dual dental specialist and founder of PURE Dental Dr. Brody Hildebrand. “The Eco-Dentistry Association is really making an effort to help offices navigate the rigorous process of ‘going green’, which in return, can truly make a meaningful impact.”
The GreenDOC™ Dental Office Certification program gives dental practices the opportunity to reach dentistry's highest standards of green practice in eight categories: Sustainable Location; Waste Reduction; Pollution Prevention; Energy Conservation; Water Conservation; Patient Care, Workplace Policies, and Community Contribution; Leadership, and Innovation. The GreenDOC™ Checklist of Standards for Green Dental Practice and Product Guide help dental practitioners get started on greening, while more in-depth How To Guides, Worksheets and Action Plans lead dental practitioners through a rigorous but attainable certification program resulting in Bronze, Silver, or Gold Certification.
The EDA’s Charter Certified distinction recognizes the first 100 dental offices to complete the GreenDOC™ Certification program. “We value the leadership role that PURE Dental has played in advancing eco-friendly practice. Dr. Hildebrand’s office is a remarkable example of clean, green, high-tech dentistry that transforms the patient experience,” explains EDA Director, Susan Beck.
