American Academy of Implant Dentistry Recognizes Outstanding Dentists

CHICAGO (December 3, 2009) ‹ The American Academy of Implant Dentistry recognized two dentists with the highest awards available from the Academy at its recently concluded 58th Annual Meeting.

Named the recipient of the Aaron Gershkoff Memorial Award was James L. Rutkowski, Rph, DMD, PhD of Clarion, Penn. In addition to being in the private practice of dentistry, Dr. Rutkowski is president of the Clarion Research Group and serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral Implantology.

The 2010 recipient of the Isaiah Lew Mem orial Research Award was A. Norman Cranin, DDS, Deng of Hewlett Bay Park, NY. One of the founders of the American Board of Oral Implantology, Dr. Cranin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine, the New York Board of Oral Surgery and the American Board of Dental Anesthesiology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Impalnt Dentistry and the American Academy of Hospital Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the Royal Society of Health. Dr. Cranin served as Chair of the Dental and Oral Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, and Implantologist-in-Chief for 37 years at the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Crainin recently retired as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral Implantology
after 38 years.
