Multilink is the new universal adhesive cement from Ivoclar Vivadent. The self-curing (chemically curing) material has been formulated for the cementation of restorations in clinical situations where light-curing is not convenient. For example, in the placement of indirect restorations made of metal, metal-ceramics or opaque all-ceramics, and in which high bond strength and a tight marginal seal is desired. The adhesive bond is achieved with the help of the self-etching Multilink Primer A/B. Apart from dispensing with the light-curing step, the material also eliminates the need for complicated separate acid etching. Multilink is supplied in a convenient dual syringe. It is easy to mix and has a pleasant creamy consistency. The material exhibits high initial bonding values on enamel and dentin and thoroughly cures in just two to three minutes. The composite matrix of Multilink is based on that of the tried and tested Variolink® II luting system from Ivoclar Vivadent. Multilink together with Appeal®, which is recommended for cementing highly esthetic restorations, provide the clinician with a wonderful range of adhesive products that answer all of their cementation needs.
