NEW APPOINTMENTS TO NDEDIC BOARD OF TRUSTEES
June, 2009 – Phoenix, Arizona: The National Dental EDI Council (NDEDIC), the preeminent source for Dental electronic data interchange (EDI) information and networking, is pleased to announce its newest appointments and elected officials.
"We're excited to have these outstanding industry leaders fill important roles and positions within the NDEDIC organization," says Carol Watkins, CAE, Executive Director of NDEDIC since 1992. "Each brings unique talents and, coupled with his/her combined knowledge and business experience in the Dental EDI industry, will be of great benefit in guiding the organization into the future.”
The newest members to the NDEDIC Board of Trustees are Jennifer Kalan, Manager of Application Development, DentalCare Partners; Jackie Tadsen, Dental Market Manager, Emdeon; April Rimpley, 2nd Vice President of Customer Relations, Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. and Tim Olsen, Programmer/Developer, PacifiCare.
Theresa Jansen, Manager of the Dental Electronic Services Department, United Concordia Companies, Inc. was re-elected to the Board.
Kathleen Noll was elected to serve as Chairman for the Organization. Kathleen has served as Secretary of NDEDIC since 2008. Kathleen possesses a unique background which combines more than 23 years of experience in the healthcare information technology marketplace with 12 years of dental clinical experience as an both an RDA-EF (Registered Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions certification) and a instructor at an accredited National Dental Assisting Program. Currently, Kathleen is the Vice President of Technical Marketing and Implementations at Quality Systems Inc. (QSI).
Christine Ruiz was elected to serve as Vice Chairman for the Organization. Christine has been in the dental industry since 1983 and has served on the NDEDIC Board since 1999. She has served on and chaired various NDEDIC committees. Currently, Christine is the Enterprise Manager for Delta Dental of California.
Scott Wellwood was elected to serve as Chairman-Elect for the Organization. In 1999, he cofounded EDI Health Group, Inc., which integrated the core services of Electronic Insurance Service EIS with Internet-based technology to deliver enhanced connectivity and transaction solutions for patients, payers and providers in the dental industry. Over the last 20 years, Scott has forged relationships with numerous practice management system vendors, clearinghouses, payers, and industry organizations.
Theresa Jansen was elected to serve as Secretary for the Organization. Theresa has served on the NDEDIC Board for eleven years and has served on and chaired various NDEDIC Committees. Theresa has 22 years of experience in the dental insurance industry, of which, the last 15 have been devoted to developing capabilities for dental offices to interact electronically with United Concordia.
Jarvis Shockey was elected to serve as Treasurer for the Organization. Jarvis has served as Assistant Treasurer of NDEDIC since 2008. With over 17 years of Healthcare EDI and Web Solutions experience, Jarvis’ background includes work in consulting, business development, sales, strategic relations, management and operations. Currently, Jarvis is the Healthcare Banking Market Manager for Fiserv (formerly known as Personix).
