Efficiently Equilibrating Natural Dentition

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

St. Petersburg, FL – March 23, 2009 – Every dentist must recognize when to equilibrate patients and when other options should be considered.

The Dawson Academy offers a hands-on course for dentists on how to evaluate how to efficiently equilibrate the patient’s natural dentition.  This intense two-and-a-half-day course is entitled The Art and Science of Equilibration, and it will be given by DeWitt (Witt) C. Wilkerson, DMD.  The course will take place on the following dates and locations:
  • Sept. 21-23, 2009 (The Dawson Academy, St. Petersburg, FL)
  • Oct. 1-3, 2009 (Traverse City, MI)
  • Nov. 9-11, 2009 (Mid-Atlantic Center, Chesapeake, VA)

The course fee is $3,400 per student, and students completing the course will receive a total of 20 continuing education credits.  The course is limited to 20 dentists.  It is highly recommend that students have taken The Dawson Academy’s Functional Occlusion: From TMJ to Smile Design, Achieving Predictable Esthetic Results, Comprehensive Examination and Records and/or Treatment Planning Function Esthetic Excellence.

About the Course
This hands-on program will teach you how to implement a process of occlusal therapy within your dental practice. Participants will be shown the importance of the trial equilibration and given the opportunity to adjust several different case types.  The utilization of PowerPoint, pre-recorded video of patient treatment, and hands-on exercises will provide the participants with the knowledge and confidence to return home and implement occlusal treatments.

About the Core Curriculum
The Dawson Academy’s Core Curriculum teaches the fundamental principles and clinical skills that make dentistry completely predictable.  The essence of the curriculum is that the teeth are only one part of the masticatory system, and when the entire system functions in harmony, teeth are healthy and stable.  Understanding the masticatory system enables you to precisely determine the exact position and contour of anterior teeth – no guess work required.  When examined and diagnosed within the framework of the entire system, problems such as excessive tooth wear, sore teeth and masticatory muscles, and fractured restorations can all be solved.  Completion of the Core Curriculum will move you beyond being a “tooth doctor” and set you on the path of becoming a “physician of the masticatory system.”
