The Endo Dent™

Used at this years Roots III summit by Dr. Glenn van As

The Endo Dent, which is a mandibular and maxillary jaw piece with patented mounting materials designed specifically for endodontic education and training, was used at Dr Glenn van As’s advanced microscopic hands-on training course at the Roots III summit in Anaheim, CA.

“The Endo Dent from Acadental has been a tremendous asset to my advanced endodontic microscopic hands-on training courses,” said Dr. Glenn van As, course instructor and Vice-President of the Congress of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry. “It allows our participants to work in a truly simulated manner when viewing the canals through the microscope, utilizing digital radiography, and apex locators on extracted teeth in manikins that closely resemble the jaws of a patient. For teaching facilities, hands-on workshops or training courses, the Endo Dent from Acadental is an excellent product.”

The hands-on course started out with an introductory lecture by Dr. van As on microscopic endodontics and time was given to prep the extracted teeth. Later, the participants worked on accessing a maxillary anterior tooth and time was spend on the mandibular Endo Dent arch viewing and working on accessed teeth and accessing mandibular teeth. The course ended with a lecture on clinical tips to help shorten the learning curve when viewing canals through scope.

By providing each participant with an Endo Dent endodontic simulation device, classes can mount the Endo Dent Plus in mannequins at a supine position to provide a realistic patient-like environment. The synthetic PDL properties and bone material are ideal for simulating the normal anatomical parts. Resulting radiographs are comparable to those from a patient. It even allows other modern endodontic procedures in a simulated environment without jeopardizing patient safety, such as System B, Obtura Gun, Thermafil, fiber fill and Lightspeed techniques as well as using rotary instrumentation, for example.

About Acadental
Headquartered in Mission, KS, Acadental currently specializes in manufacturing and marketing total endodontic training devices and works closely with dental schools, continuing education instructors and general dentists involved in endodontic education.

Acadental is dedicated to incorporating the latest techniques that are employed by endodontists into educational curriculums. We developed our products so that students can learn via our simulated devices rather than ways that do not simulate the true environment in which today’s dentists practice.
