Omron Healthcare Launches First Acute Care Product Following Colin Acquisition

New BP-S510 Patient Monitor Combines Colin’s Patented NIBP Technology And Omron’s High Usability/Flexibility

Bannockburn, IL— July 16, 2007 — Firmly demonstrating its commitment to the vital signs monitoring business, Omron Healthcare announced today the launch of a new portable, state-of-the-art patient monitor (model BP-S510) for use in hospitals, dentist offices and regional surgery centers.  This product is the first to be released by Omron since the company’s acquisition of Colin in April 2006.

The BP-S510 combines the best of Colin’s leading non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) technology and Omron’s user-friendly design capabilities to provide a versatile, lightweight monitor that will enable close watch of a patient’s vital signs whether they are sedentary or being moved within a hospital.  Comprehensive vital sign measurements on the monitor include non-invasive blood pressure (systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressures) (NIBP), electrocardiography (ECG), two channel temperature, invasive blood pressure (ABP) and capnography (EtCO2), functional arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2),   pulse rate, and respiration

“We are pleased to unveil the first Omron® product with Colin ®Technology to the medical device market as it clearly showcases the strengths of both organizations,” said Isao Ogino, CEO, Omron Healthcare, Inc.  “We look forward to further combining the expertise of both companies to provide superior contributions to the medical device market.”

The sleek and sophisticated BP-S510 provides simple, user-friendly operation that makes it ideal for a wide variety of uses including conscious sedation, post-anesthesia care, step-down, and emergency rooms.  Weighing just 12.1 lbs, it is easy to transport the monitor from floor to floor, and an optional rechargeable battery allows the device to be used during transport for up to two hours. A large, 10.4 inch LCD screen on the device allows a wide viewing angle with color-coded parameters for increased visibility. Easy-to-see function buttons include a jog-dial for quick and efficient navigation of vital patient data.

In June 2005, Omron Corporation announced it would acquire all shares of Colin Medical Technology Corporation (CMT) (Komaki, Japan) through its wholly owned company, Omron Healthcare Co., Ltd. (Kyoto, Japan).

Through the acquisition, which was completed in April 2006, Omron Healthcare owns CMT’s medical devices for healthcare professionals, such as bio-information monitors, inpatient blood pressure monitoring devices and vascular screening devices, in addition to Omron Healthcare’s home healthcare products, including blood pressure monitors and body fat analyzers, pedometers, thermometry products and nebulizers.
