The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the AGD Foundation (AGDF) created a partnership with Hufford Financial Advisors, LLC to help AGD members achieve financial freedom and benefit from new opportunities available to business owners created by recent sweeping changes to retirement programs. Attendees can learn how to take advantage of this unique membership benefit during the AGD’s 55th Annual Meeting & Exhibits in San Diego, Calif., from June 27-July 1, 2007.
Member dentists will have the opportunity at the annual meeting to take part in an informational session called Achieving Financial Excellence. Participants will learn from Brian Hufford, CEO of Hufford Financial Advisors, who will share key distinctions between achieving average versus excellent financial outcomes. Participants will learn about specific principles and strategies to help dentists achieve annual and lifetime financial success. Attendees will hear survey results from the national financial preparedness study, learn how they compare, and then begin to build their ideal financial picture.
Some questions participants will learn surprising answers to, include:
• How can you plan on the retirement you and your family deserve?
• How can you achieve extraordinary financial results personally and professionally?
• How can new dentists plan for the future and make sure that debt doesn’t sabotage other financial goals?
This opportunity, offered only through the AGD, will be the beginning of a unique program called, Mastering Your Financial Future. Participants will complete four eight-hour sessions over the course of an 18-month period. It will focus on creating and providing quality continuing dental education (CDE) financial programs for general dentists.
"This alliance was created because our organizations want to work together to better educate and empower general dentists to identify their financial strengths and weaknesses," says AGD Foundation President Julie A. Barna, DMD, MAGD. "Our teams want to help individuals to build a fiscally responsible practice as well as sound financial and investment plans."
"We are thrilled to work with this industry leader, who shares our vision to create program content that will help advance the value and excellence of general dentistry as well as benefit dental professionals," says AGD Executive Director Christie Tarantino, CAE. "We look forward to working with Hufford Financial and the AGD Foundation to broaden our members’ access to new continuing education experiences."
"I am excited that Hufford will be able to help dentists bridge the financial gap through our education program and by learning more about the important Financial Preparedness Study that was recently completed in cooperation with the AGD," says Hufford. "Both the research and the education program have the potential to truly educate dentists and provide them with invaluable tools to manage their financial future."a
