Zhermack Inc., a leading producer of impression materials for dental clinicians and high-tech solutions for dental laboratories, announces the introduction of Colorise® VPS Impression Material, a unique, thermochromic material designed for higher speed, definition and greater chairside productivity.

Colorise® VPS Impression Material takes advantage of Zhermack’s patented Chromatime Technology. This innovation in vinyl polysiloxane (VPS) impression material employs color change to signal to the dentist the time required for impression-taking. Now there is no more need to watch the clock and no guessing when the impression is done. A change in the material’s color is all that is needed to know that it’s ready.

With Colorise® wash materials, the color change from green to yellow indicates the end of working time. In the heavy and monophase viscosities, the color change from light blue to white indicates the end of the setting time. Although any plastic or metal tray will work with Colorise®, Zhermack also offers a full-line of clear plastic impression trays specifically designed for easy viewing of the color change.

In addition to its ease-of-use, Colorise® VPS Impression Material is the first material in the world that, thanks to its hydrophilic nature, enables a reliable and precise reproduction of details and margins in a moist oral environment and in all circumstances. The specific “enzymatic hydrophilia” action of Colorise® actively interacts with and displaces the oral fluids, allowing the material to flow into the gingival sulcus to produce clear, crisp and well-defined marginal details.

“Dental professionals really appreciate the visual status indication of Colorise® VPS Impression Material, because it keeps their minds ‘off the clock’ and instead clearly focused on the task at hand,” said Barbara Maragni, Managing Director of Zhermack USA.

Colorise® VPS Impression Material is available in nine different viscosities, all with a delicate vanilla flavor to help make the impression-taking experience more pleasant for the patient.
