3M ESPE announces the introduction of the Lava™ Scan STDesign System for dental labs. Previously available only to Authorized Lava Milling Centers, the Lava Scan ST Design System gives dental labs in-house scanning and design control, as well as provides a foundation for the transition to digital dentistry.  By scanning traditional models, the Lava™ Scan ST Design System allows the dental lab to use the system’s software to digitally design the coping or framework for milling by an AuthorizedLavaMillingCenter.  Offering a cost-effective entry point into digital dentistry, the design system provides dentists and their local labs greater flexibility and access to genuine Lava™ Crowns and Bridges.

“As the dental industry gravitates toward digital dentistry, 3M ESPE remains committed to helping its dental lab partners manage this transition, by developing, integrating and consulting about new digital technologies,” said Jim Buchanan, US sales and marketing manager for lab and digital products, 3M ESPE.  “The introduction of the Lava Scan ST design system is further evidence of 3M’s commitment to helping dental labs navigate at their own pace into the new digital world.”
That forward-thinking commitment is further evident through the recent acquisition of Brontes Technologies’ digital impressioning technology, which will uniquely position 3M ESPE for the future of digital dentistry. This new technology will enable digital workflow processes with numerous possibilities and materials options, including, but not limited to the integration with the Lava™ Crowns and Bridges System.

Lava crowns and bridges are available to all dentists and their labs through a network of Authorized Lava™ DesignCenters and Authorized LavaMillingCenters throughout the United States.  3M ESPE warrants for five years from the date of placement that copings or substructures made out of Lava™ Frame Zirconia will not break, as set forth in more detail in the Lava™ Limited Warranty.  The coping or substructure must be fabricated by an Authorized Lava™ MillingCenter on Lava™ Equipment in strict compliance with approved indications and instructions for use for Lava Crowns and Bridges.

For more information, contact your 3M ESPE sales representative or call your Authorized Lava™ MillingCenter.  A full list of ALMCs is available on our web site at www.3MESPE.com/Lava
