A-dec Names New Company President

Family-owned Dental Equipment Manufacturer Passes Leadership to Next Generation
A-dec, the largest dental equipment manufacturer in the U.S., today named Scott Parrish President of the family-owned company, succeeding his father-in-law and dental industry icon Ken Austin. The announcement was made by Austin and his wife, A-dec co-founder Joan Austin.
Parrish has held positions of increasing responsibility since joining A-dec in 1985. He most recently served as Vice President and General Manager. Previously, Parrish held the position of Vice President of Product Development, guiding the creation of several major product lines including the flagship A-dec 500® line of dental equipment.
“This is a natural progression for A-dec,” said Ken Austin in a meeting with employees today. “Scott has demonstrated excellent management skills and has built a talented and committed leadership team. We’re proud of A-dec’s history in the dental equipment marketplace and of the continuity this represents for the company.”
“We’re confident in Scott’s ability to lead A-dec into a new era,” said Joan Austin. “The mutual respect he enjoys with A-dec employees, our vendors and industry partners assures us that the company will continue to honor the principles on which it was founded.”

Ken and Joan Austin will retain their active presence at A-dec and on the Board.
