Ortho Organizers has developed a new stop device to provide an alternative to standard archwire stops. The Micro-Stop is a small tube made of quality stainless steel which is threaded onto an archwire and then crimped in place with a dull cutter, a Weingardt or most any other type of holding plier. Available in two sizes; small and large, these stops can be used to limit movement or provide anchorage. The small size is approximately .032 inches in diameter and 2mm long and will fit archwires up to .016 round or .016 x .022 rectangular. The larger stop fits archwires up to .018 round or .018 x .025 rectangular. Because both sizes of Micro-Stops have a profile paralleling the archwire they appear virtually invisible to the eye in addition to being small enough to provide improved comfort for patients.
