3M ESPE Announces new Vice President
Posted: February 1, 2007
Tom Engels, vice president for 3M ESPE Dental Division, has communicated his intention to retire after 38 years of service with 3M. In order to ensure a smooth transition in leadership of this important division, we are announcing changes that became effective January 1st.
Jeff Lavers will replace Tom as division vice president, 3M ESPE Division.
Jeff is currently division vice president, Automotive Aftermarkets Division. Jeff has many years of experience with our dental and orthodontics businesses, including serving as marketing director, 3M ESPE Division. He is the logical choice for this important position based on his leadership skills, extensive dental experience including involvement in the ESPE integration, knowledge of distribution and extensive external relationships.
Because of the significant amount of M&A activity in the 3M ESPE Division and the recent acquisition of Brontes Technologies Inc., Tom has agreed to stay on for a transition period as vice president, Oral Care Business Development, effective January 1st. Tom's responsibilities will include leading the Brontes Technologies integration and the development of an oral care digital dentistry business plan, working with the 3M ESPE Division under Jeff Lavers and 3M Unitek Division under Val Szwajkowski.
Please join me in congratulating both Tom and Jeff in these new appointments and Tom on his decision to retire. We are pleased to welcome Jeff back to the Health Care Business and thankful to Tom for agreeing to help ensure continuity in our dental leadership.
